heya everyone

as some of you may know i have had to have blood test due to my lack of hormones, and doctors think i may be experiencing premature menopause.

now i have been told that HRT is very risky to take if you are also taking Tegretol Retard, does anyone know what other things i could be taking to replace my hormones if results come back that i am experiencing premature menopause?

Hi Hayley, I too have been told several times that I cannot take HRT and Tegretol Retard together.

The doctors have never come up with another solution for me though

oh dear i'm not looking forward to my results on monday then!! surely there is something they could do considering that i am only 20!!!

There is an interesting bit of info here concerning the drug gabapentin (Neurontin), I've never heard of it but it sounds like it might be a possible drug to ask about.

Thanks for the info Mr Z...
l never knew there was a different drug that may be possible to take. At least its something to talk over with the GP for anyone interested

yes doctors will give me more info in 4 months when i have another blood test to make sure its more accurate but my hormone levels are low (especially my estrogen)

just realised theres two topics that we're talking about this in lol

they need to leave enough space between each test to see if anything changes
